Dave House was the sound designer and co-producer of the Lost Wells Podcast, created by artist/anthropologist Katch Holmes.
Using on-location recordings, interviews, voice-overs and music, this sereis of 4 podcasts is part of the Galloway Glens Lost Wells project, which was instigated in lockdown. It tasked people to carry out online research to discover lost wells near them.
Wells were vital to our existence, important social and cultural hubs which provided fresh supplies of clean water, healing functions, and spiritual meccas. In the podcasts, Katch Holmes goes on a whistle-stop tour around some of the many well sites in Galloway, touching on issues of water supplies, local and global history, healing, culture, mythology, and folk tales.
