Review in Electronic Sound issue 36
Initially influenced by the deeper shades of dance music (Detroit techno, drum ‘n’ bass), this new material from Edinburgh’s Dave House, who works as electronic musician and sound artist The Reverse Engineer, is more closely aligned to genre-free synth dreamers such as Actress or Nathan Fake. ‘Elusive Geometry’, his second album, is bursting with ideas, from the sinuous melody, evocative vocals and bass drone of ‘Metastability’ to the overdriven thumb piano and ambling drums of ‘Rhythmed’. Original and beautiful.
