Concentrated Living (originally realeased under the name Dave House) is a sonic document of the artist’s journey around New Zealand and Indonesia in 2004/5. He captured any audio that caught his ear, from the exotic to the mundane. Once home he unwove the material and tweaked, looped and stitched it into a representation of his trip.
Every sound on the album is an original recording or a derivitive. The recontextualisation of sounds and the way disparate sources sit in harmony is a fitting metaphor for the sensory and cultural overload that is world travel.
An extensively remastered version of the album was reissued in 2018.
